Elmo Cake
This Elmo Cake was made for a little boy's 1st birthday party.
It's a 3 tier vanilla cake with the Elmo figure made from LCMs moulded into shape.
Each tier of the cake is coloured inside and out to make it bright and cheery even when a slice is cut ( blue tier is blue inside with blue icing outside ect ).
Elmo is made from LCM bars I softened in the microwave and then moulded into shape and left to set in the fridge.
It took me 8 hours on and off to cover him in his red fur that I made from coloured rolled icing I put through a garlic crusher.
Why buy expensive tools when you can use kitchen items that do the same job.
To add colour I used a giant lollie pop behind Elmo and gum balls around the bottom tier.
This cake was great fun to make. I love using bright colours for children's cakes so this was a great was to show that.what kid doesn't love bright cheery colours.
If I was to make this again I would make Elmo smaller and maybe try making a cookie monster to go with it??
